Located in Columbia, SC — just 200 miles from Atlanta — the biggest hurdle for productions considering South Carolina has always been the lack of infrastructure. We’ve solved that.

Columbia Studios was started by DGA and PGA members with over 40 years of combined production and producing experience. Our Phase 1 campus spans more than 66,700 square feet across 4.8 acres and offers both full turn- key production services and à la carte options — including furnished production offices, sound stages, complete post-production facilities, and support services from script to delivery.

Our phase 1 campus opens in July 2025, while our phase 2 campus will open in Spring 2026, will feature six purpose-built sound stages (each 20,000 square feet) and over 40,000 square feet of additional production office and support space.

  • We’ll prepare a full South Carolina production budget (union or non-union) and provide preliminary location photos — at no cost to you. No obligation, just real support to help you plan your next project smarter.

• State of the Art Post Production Facility

  • We have in-house editorial, color and sound suites. We can even handle create your dailies and studio delivery. We have dedicated fiber lines for upload/download. We have cloud/server availabilities to allow your director and editorial team to work on our systems from their comfort of their own home once you have wrapped production. • Equipment Rentals Onsite

  • We’re partnering with with your “go to” camera, grip, lighting, trailer and truck vendors to offer all your equipment rental needs, readily available and on site.

• Background & Local Casting Services

  • In-house background casting and payroll services make it easy to cast your project quickly and locally. Beyond background talent, Columbia is home to the University of South Carolina’s respected drama program, as well as several active local theater troupes. We can confidently tell you — you can cast your day players and smaller supporting roles locally. Our in-house casting department, just relocated from Atlanta to Columbia, bringing over a two decades of experience and is ready to assist with all your local and background casting needs.

• Crew Training Facility

  • Hands-on “bootcamp” programs to train local crew in production office position, production accounting, grip & electric, camera, and sound.

• In-House Travel Agent

  • We have an in-house travel agent, at no cost to you, to book all your flights, hotels, rental cars, airport transportation, etc. Have a large production and need a dedicated travel coordinator to connect directly with your cast and crew? We can handle that for a small flat fee, significantly lower than a full time travel coordinator.
